Specify the app and search criteria, then choose the field used to determine the newest or oldest record. Select which value to retrieve from that record and where to store it.
Depending on the settings, this customization runs at the following times. Any configured conditions are also evaluated.

The page-display and field-change triggers exclude inline editing from the pencil icon on the list page.

Please enter the search criteria for the records you want to retrieve. *You can specify the sort order, but this plugin will ignore it.
Please select the field to use for determining whether the app to be retrieved is the most recent or the oldest. If no field is specified, the determination will be based on the record’s update date and time. Additionally, if there are multiple records that qualify as the most recent or the oldest, the determination will be based on their record numbers. This setting is optional.
The following field types cannot be selected.
Fields inside tables cannot be selected.

Operation is not guaranteed in apps where the field codes of the Record number or Updated datetime fields have been changed.
With a comparison field selected, Newest returns the first record in descending order and Oldest the first in ascending order. However, when the field is omitted, the current definition returns the oldest Updated datetime for Newest and the newest for Oldest, reversing the option meanings. Ties are resolved by record number in the same sort direction.
