Copy Table from Another App

Summary

Click the button to retrieve a table from another app and copy it into this app’s table.

This plugin supports smartphones.

How to use

Configure the source app, the keys in both apps, and the source and destination tables. Click the retrieval button on a creation or edit page to find matching records. If several records match, select one source record. If its table has multiple rows, select the rows to import. Selected rows are appended to the destination table.

When it runs

Depending on the settings, this customization runs at the following times. Any configured conditions are also evaluated.

  • When you open a record creation or edit page
  • When you click a button added by this plugin

Click the button added by this customization to run the operation.

The page-display and field-change triggers exclude inline editing from the pencil icon on the list page.

Parameters

Enter or select a value for each setting unless it is marked optional.

Button label

Enter the label for the retrieval button.

Source app

Please select the app you want to copy from.

Key field of the source app

Please select the key field within the copy application. The application will copy from records where this field value matches.

The following field types cannot be selected.

  • Categories
  • Table
  • Related records
  • Field group
  • Label
  • Blank space
  • Border

Fields inside tables cannot be selected.

Select from the app specified in “Source app”.

Key fields in this app

Please select the key field in this app. Records where the value of this field matches the key field in the source app will be copied.

The following field types cannot be selected.

  • Field group
  • Label
  • Blank space
  • Border

Fields to Display in the Selection Dialog (Source)

Please select the fields to display in the record selection dialog that appears in the source app when there are multiple records matching the key.

Restrictions

Operation is not guaranteed in apps where the field code of the Record number field has been changed.

Notes

Use matching field codes for the columns to copy. Empty source rows are skipped. A single matching record or table row is imported without a selection dialog.
