Auto Furigana According to Input Field

Summary

The phonetic reading (Furigana) is automatically entered into another field based on the input.

How to Use

For example, if you specify “Name (Kanji)” in the “Input Field” and “Name (Kana)” in the “Furigana Field”, when the user enters their name in the “Name (Kanji)” field, the furigana will be automatically filled in the “Name (Kana)”.

When you execute this action, it checks user input in the “Input Field” in real-time and temporarily sets the hiragana that is input during the process into the “Furigana Field”. As a result, when inputting using kana-kanji conversion, the hiragana before conversion is set in the “Furigana Field.”

Due to this mechanism, when inputting from predictive conversion, only some of the furigana can be recognized. Also, if the value is automatically set in the input field due to the browser’s functionality, the furigana will not be recognized.

This is not a function to add furigana (ruby) to entered words or sentences, so please be careful.

Parameters

Set Input Field, Furigana Field, and Hiragana or Katakana.

Input Field

Specify the field in which the text is to be changed to furigana.

Only the Text field is available.

This parameter does not accept fields that are inside tables.

Furigana Field

Specify the field to automatically set furigana.

The field must be distinct from the “Input Field.”

Only the Text field is available.

This parameter does not accept fields that are inside tables.

Hiragana or Katakana

Select whether to use hiragana or katakana for furigana.

Compatibility with krewSheet

This action does not support krewSheet.

Precautions

This action does not work after the user has entered the text. It must be executed before the user starts inputting. It is appropriate to execute this action “When Record Add/Edit Page Displayed.”

This is not a function that adds furigana (ruby) to entered words or sentences, so even if you execute “Auto Furigana According to Input Field” with the condition “When Fields Value Changed,” furigana will not be generated.

Restrictions

  • This action can only run on the “Edit Record” or the “New Record” pages.

    • Inline editing mode (after clicking the pencil icon to enter editing mode) is not supported.
  • If the method of setting values to the “Input Field” is as follows, some or all of the furigana may not be recognized.

    • Other than user input
    • Katakana input
    • When predictive conversion is applied
    • Automatically set by the browser’s functionality
  • The extent to which user input can be captured depends on the browser and the Japanese input environment.
