Update the value in the lookup fields of another app.
Records with the specified value in the Lookup field will be updated. Records targeted to updates will be re-retrieved with the same value in the Lookup field. If a copy of the field is set in the Lookup field, the value in the field will be re-copied with the current value.
It is acceptable for multiple records to be updated.
This action is similar to “Update Lookup Fields,” but while “Update Lookup Fields” selects the target Lookup field from the currently customized app, “Update Lookup Fields of Another App” allows you to select the Lookup fields from other apps.
A common example of this action is when a customized app serves as a master app, such as a Product Database. When its content is edited, all other apps that reference the master app must also be updated.
For example:
In such cases, it is necessary to “Update Lookup Fields of Another App.”
This will update all records in the Quote app that reference the current Product Database accordingly.
All target records will be updated; therefore, you cannot use “Update Lookup Fields of Another App” to filter the update target, such as only updating “unissued quotes.”
