Display Error on Field

Summary

Display the specified error on the field.

For more complex error checks, use this action alongside the condition “If the field value is a specific value.”

How to use

To perform error checking based on value combinations from multiple fields, utilize the action with the condition “If the field value equals a specific value.”

To show an error when the page loads, include display conditions such as “When the Record Add Page is Displayed.”

Parameters

Set Field and Error Message.

Field

Select the field to display the error.

Note that this parameter does not accept the following field types:

  • Calculated
  • Record number
  • Created by
  • Created datetime
  • Updated by
  • Updated datetime
  • Status
  • Assignee
  • Table
  • Related records
  • Field group
  • Blank space

If you select a field inside a table, all rows of that table will be processed. For exceptions: See (*1)

*1: Only the affected rows will be processed if you set a condition that applies only to some table rows (such as “When Fields Value Changed”).

You cannot specify fields from both a table and outside it simultaneously, nor can you specify fields from multiple tables at the same time. If you need to check fields within and across tables, please split them into separate actions.

Error Message

Enter an error message to display if an error is detected.

Compatibility with krewSheet

The action is supported only under the following conditions:

You cannot set multiple errors at the same time. The error set last will be displayed in the krewSheet.

Precautions

If actions to change field values or enable/disable fields and “Display Error on Field” are performed simultaneously, those operations will be canceled. This is the specification of Kintone.

If the action “Display Error on Field” and “Set Field Value” occur simultaneously, the “Set Field Value” action will be canceled, causing the field value to revert to its previous state.

To display an error and change the field value simultaneously, execute them in order by using “When Another Action Completes” instead of doing them at the same time.
